Pooran Chand Pandey (General Secretary)
Credited with pioneering the notion of involving civil society, business and government through consensus and convergence for inclusion and equity, Pooran has led launch of national public service campaigns such as Lead India, Teach India and the social impact awards. He has also successfully carried out a number of innovative and game changing development ideas, including raising community infrastructure in public private partnership mode (valued at USD 100 million) in six disaster prone states, benefiting more than a million people.
Specializing both in development and humanitarian assistance domains, Pooran also has chaired and co-chaired various task forces and committees of the Government of India leading to national policy on voluntary sector, implementation of UN Handbook, nongovernmental charter of good governance, rationalization of policies for nongovernmental organizations, and foreign contribution regulation act. He currently advises UNV/UNDP on its first state of the world volunteering report.
Pooran holds an M.A in Philosophy from the University of Allahabad, Allahabad, an M.Phil in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a diploma in Public Diplomacy from Swedish Institute, Stockholm, besides having obtained advanced training and global mid career management programs from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Asian Productivity organization, Tokyo, JAPAN and Fiji Productivity Board, Fiji. He is also a British Chevening Scholar at the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science, London, UK besides being a visitor at the University of Technology, Sydney in Australia.
Some of the key leadership positions that Pooran has held over the years include: Executive Assistant to Vice Chairman, Ispat Industries Limited, Chief Executive Officer of Voluntary Action Network India, Director of Times Foundation, Times of India Group. He worked with UN Global Compact Network India as its Executive Director based in New Delhi. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer, Dialogue of Civilizations, DOC-Germany.
Vijay Singh (President & Chairman)
With close to 19 years of work experience in different capacities in the voluntary sector, humanitarian as well as the private sector, Vijay Singh has developed strong relationships and established partner networks and volunteer’s base, cross-cutting issues of poverty alleviation, human rights, education and health. Having a specialization in International Human Rights and masters in Public Administration, he has worked with Correctional Services of Canada, Salvation Army (Suicide Prevention Bureau) and health sector in Canada , U.K and India . He has also worked in the capacity of "Country Support Officer" with "Canadian Crossroads International" in India and with a number of national and international non-profit organisations.
Shashi Prakash (Treasurer)
A committed professional social worker, Shashi Prakash has progressively worked on the issues of child rights, specially child protection and right to education for the past 18 years. He has worked with reputed national and international agencies like Action Aid, Aide et Action and UNICEF. He is a trained practitioner of Participatory Monitoring & Evaluation. He likes to read and write on contemporary issues of social policy. His other interests lies in extending Information Technology in rural areas for development.
Currently, he is Advisor to Child Rights Resource Center, Lucknow. He is also a trainer on Juvenile Justice to police, judiciary and government officials.
Renuka Srinivasan (Board Member)
Has over 20 years of work experience in varied roles in different sectors, ranging from NGOs to Donor agencies to IT firms. Worked with bilateral development cooperation agency like the European Commission, on issues such as poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS, rural development, environment etc. Has also worked with a number of non-profit organisations on issues as broad ranging as art & cultural heritage preservation, children and youth issues, local governance and education. Her stint in software development in the Information Technology sector, has given her invaluable experience and undertanding of the synergy that can brought to the application of ICTs in development issues.
Shekhar Anand (Board Member)
Over fifteen years of experience in progressive responsible capacity in multi-cultural environment in Asia and Africa; four years with government agency (1988-92); seven years with international non-profit organizations like CARE (1992-98 & 2003-2004); four years with bilateral development cooperation like CIDA INDIA (1999-2003) in the areas of community-led livelihood, capacity building, project management & control systems, social policy analysis; participatory processes, partnership strategies, NGO management and accountability systems.
Dilith Castleton (Board Member)
Having started her career as development professional in 1984, there has been no looking back for her. She has a Masters degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social sciences, which is the most reputed institution in India with some of the best development professionals to its credit in India and abroad. She has actively worked for the TATA STEEL "Social services and Family Initiatives Department" in different capacities in the last 28 years in Rural, Tribal and Reproductive Health services. The TATA's have the reputation of being the oldest and most ethical corporate in India.
Aakash Sethi (Board Member)
Currently involved in devising CSR policy & initiatives for Microsoft in Istanbul. He has wide experience and exposure to working with the Voluntary sector both as a volunteer himself and in an official capacity with AIESEC (Manager: Development and CSR Initiatives) and with Corporates such as Ambuja Cement Ltd.
Rajeev Ranjan (Board Member)
Rajeev is a Judge by profession and a staunch supporter of rights based perspective of human development. He has a specialization in dealing with Intellectual Property Rights, domestic and international arbitration, and enforcements. He has wide experience in advising Not-For-Profit organizations and companies (Both Indian and Foreign) on key issues like corporate reorganizations and reconstructions, liquidation, foreign investment proposals, joint ventures, contracts, MOU etc.
Ritesh Sinha (Board Member)
A Post Graduate in Rural Development Management from XISS, has over 17 years experience in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility. He has rich experience in the areas of stakeholder engagement, development project management, social communication, sustainability reporting, institution building and social enterprise promotion. He has led teams on managing stakeholder relationships and deploying sustainable community development projects. He has worked closely with various multilateral donor agencies and leading corporations of India and abroad. He has a firm belief that solutions to most of the problems the world faces today, lies latent in the Vedas and he is in pursuit of demystifying them to help in creating a better world.
Shishir Lal (Board Member)
An M.Tech in Environmental Engineering from IIT Mumbai, has more than 22 years of experience in the field of Environment and Social Impact Assessment. He has rich experience in the area of Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting based on GRI Framework. He has been the Team Leader for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) related studies covering infrastructure, mining, power, construction and industrial sectors. He has worked closely with regulatory agencies (MoEF, SPCB, Deptt of Forests) for grant of statutory environmental clearances. He has worked with various donor agencies such as The World Bank, USAID, JBIC, IFC, JICA, etc. on various environmental assessment related projects covering infrastructure and power.
He is a LEED Auditor for Environmental Management System (ISO-14001), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS-18001) and Energy Management System (EN -16001) and has implemented many projects across various sectors.
Jaideep Balyan (Board Member)
A commerce graduate from University of Delhi and a Diploma holder in Small Scale Enterprises from AIMA. He has over 19 years of rich work experience in various financial sectors, ranging from sales to planning, training & execution to corporate relationship with big corporate. During this tenure, worked closely with UNDP as corporate representative. Also running a school for the noble cause of ‘education & development of rural children’. Has been engaged voluntarily in various ‘Save the Environment’ activities and educating people for the cause.

Mr. Sukhendu Banerjee (Coordinator-FDI Eastern Zone) is a management professional working in the field of Social Development for last 22 years now. He is involved in the capacity building of development sector in varied roles and responsibilities, such as product marketing by co-operatives, business initiatives in rural development, effective project management and in the implementation of Training of Trainers Programme.
Dr. Harpal Negi (Coordinator-FDI Uttaranchal) has a doctorate degree in sociology (Topic: Sociological study of traditional medical practitioners of Uttaranchal) and has been running a not-for-profit organization in Uttaranchal since 1985. Uttaranchal Youth and Rural Development Organisation (UYRDC), under the guidance of Dr.Harpal Negi has taken multidimensional roles in organizing and mobilizing the most disadvantaged sections of the society in Uttaranchal. Dr.Negi's role especially in the area of promoting cooperatives and development of self-help groups is credible. Dr.Negi has been engaged in the remotes of Uttaranchal hills developing agriculture cooperatives, fruit cooperatives, vegetable grower cooperatives, herbal cooperative groups and dairy cooperatives.
Dr. Raja Venkatesh (member) is a Bachelor in Medicine and surgery, and is a consultant medical officer with a number of voluntary organisations, such as SEVAI, and HUT. He is the founding Director of the Human Upliftment trust, which primarily works in the areas of health and healthcare, including HIV/AIDS anti-retro viral therapy for underprivileged in Tamilnadu state.
Prof.S.Sitaraman (member) has had a varied career, working with Corporates to working as an Administrator of the Kerala Kottakkal Ayurvedic Hospital. He is currently in-charge of setting up the Amity School of Ayurveda, in Delhi.
Dr. Paramhans Mishra (member) has over 18 years of experience as a medical practitioner, an effective administrator and staunch supporter of human rights. Dr.Mishra is an MBBS Graduate from University of Delhi, India. Dr.Mishra has done Master’s in Hospital Administration from one of the most prestigious medical institution in India i.e. ‘All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi ’. He is also an ISO (Indian Standard Organisation) certified lead Auditor and NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals) trained Assessor.
Dr. Prabhat Ranjan (member) is a practising lawyer with Delhi High court, and is a staunch supporter of Human Rights for last 22 years. Advocate Prabhat Ranjan is a known name in the legal circle in India for raising some of the most important human rights issues through Public Interest Litigation, an effective instrument in Indian judiciary to address human rights violations and humanitarian issues. He is a champion for the cause of upliftment of deprived and destitute section of society.
